It's best to start planning for postpartum care while you're still pregnant. Early preparation can help ensure a smoother recovery after childbirth. Many postpartum doulas, including myself, also offer valuable prenatal support. I recommend beginning with a postpartum care package that includes 2-3 appointments during your third trimester, followed by 8-10 sessions in the first six weeks after birth.

That said, it's never too late to seek support! The postpartum period extends through the first year after childbirth, with different needs at each stage. If your baby is already several months old, you're still welcome to reach out.

Every mother and family is unique. During our initial consultation, we’ll discuss your specific needs to create a personalized care plan that best supports you.

I'm a Medi-Cal credentialed doula which allows me to offer free doula care to mothers covered by Medi-Cal insurance throughout California. I work with all managed care plans in the Monterey and San Francisco bay areas. I now also take commercial insurance as well as Carrot Fertility.
